FAQ's

Answers to common questions about Neropure stainless steel water tanks.

Do not place stainless steel water tanks on an uneven or unstable surface. Fix the tank to the ground with expandable bolts and ensure it is well-balanced and stable.

In addition, please take adequate precautions to place the SS tank away from chemicals, flammable material and hazardous vapours, which could affect the properties of the stainless steel. Do not connect pipes to the water tank without support, to avoid stress on the tank that could tear the body or cause leakage. See our installation guide for more.

Are Neropure tanks safe for drinking water?

Plastic water tanks are made from petrochemicals, which can facilitate bacterial growth and lose structural integrity when exposed to the sun. How much will the water temperature change?

The maximum change in water temperature between inlet and outlet on a daily basis is within 2-3 degrees under atmospheric conditions of 48 degrees.

If water is stored and not used for days, the water temperature will rise on a daily basis as above under the same atmospheric conditions.

How often do I need to clean and maintain my tank?

Inside of the tank (once a month):

  • Over time, impurities and sand settle at the bottom of the tank.
  • Open the drain valve for a few minutes. First the mud will come out; when clear water starts to come out, close the drain valve.

Outside of the tank (once every 6 months):

  • Keep the tank's outer body clean and wash it once every 6 months to avoid dust and mud deposits.

What if pipe connections at site are made of G.I. / S.S. or UPVC and exposed to direct sun?

  • To insulate pipes from direct sun, use 'Closed Cell Foam Rubber Pipe Insulation', commonly used on AC pipelines and domestic water lines.
  • In case of GI pipes, use a brass MT to connect the GI pipe to the SS tank connectors, to isolate GI from the SS material.
